Office Outlook 2007 Update Results in Email Issues
A recent Microsoft Office 2007 update has caused difficulties for some of our clients. If your computer has automatically downloaded the Office Outlook 2007 update 2412171, you may be experiencing issues in Outlook 2007. To resolve this issue, download and install the current version of update 2412171 from the Microsoft Download Center.

Trouble with Explorer 9
Over the past few weeks we’ve had calls from clients who are experiencing difficulties with filling in forms online, with games and even with editing their own websites. The common issue? All had recently downloaded Microsoft’s new browser, Explorer 9.

Our advice?  At least until Ex-9 is out of the beta-testing stages, download Firefox 4 and use it instead. For all the reasons in the article below, at least give it a test-drive. Odds are, you won’t look back!

Battle of the Browsers

Windows Internet Explorer 9    VSMozilla Firefox

It’s the battle of the browsers as two technology monoliths go head-to-head. In one corner is Mozilla, a not-for-profit organization priding itself on delivering an experience centered on the individual web user. In the other is Microsoft, the same company that has delivered notoriously lackluster performances in the past. Who will come out on top?

The Verdict?
Though both Internet Explorer 9 and Firefox 4 are much better than their respective predecessors, there is no denying that Mozilla’s offering is clearly superior. More compliant, cleaner, more productive, faster, and lacking less than Microsoft’s program, Firefox 4 takes the steps necessary to push the browser forward while maintaining the same functionality as its predecessors. There you have it.

Streaming Video... You want it? We’ve got it!

You’re having an important meeting, but attendees live all over the country, and getting them all together is like herding cats. Or, you need to broadcast an event live and also have it available on your website for late-comers to view. What to do?

At Chameleon Creative, we’ve set up a powerful media server solution that makes it possible to broadcast live streaming video to hundreds of people at the same time. We’ve allocated enough bandwidth to make sure the quality is impeccable no matter how many people view the video. We’ve partnered with Amazon - probably the most reliable provider of Cloud infrastructure.

So now, any of our clients can host a live streaming event directly on their website. A simple webcam and laptop might be all you need! It’s a simple explanation for some pretty serious infrastructure. Call us to find out more.

Could Your Website Use a MAKEOVER?

The website makeover examples below are just three of many web "facelifts" we've done recently.  In these cases, we've revamped the look, added functionality to benefit both site owners and their customers, and added a content management system (CMS) so that the site owners can add text and images at their convenience. And all with a reasonable price tag.

Put Your Best Foot Forward
In a world that pays so much attention to appearances, it's important to put your best foot forward, not only by offering products and services that truly deliver the intended result, but by presenting them to the consumer in a way that enhances their value.  We've all visited websites that could use improvement.  Inconsistent navigation menus, poor graphics, dead links and bad design don't reflect well on the website owner's business, even if the product or service is a good one.

Have Your Say
Most of our clients want to be able to add their own content (text & images) to their website. If you're having your website redesigned, this is the most cost-effective time to add a content management system (CMS). It will give you the means to have your say - any time you want!

Give Value, Get Value
Looking good is not enough! Give your customers value - benefits they can use - and they'll visit your website again and again. Celtfest has an Instructors' database, CR Metal Fabricators showcases their work with a photo gallery and ProFish Adventures features a site search function. These features (and many others) are valuable tools. They allow your potential and existing customers to better understand what your company can do for them before they even walk in the door.

Meet with us to discuss your needs, and you'll get good value. We'll advise you of the benefits of a variety of web features that will best suit the needs of your business and your customers. Make the web experience a good one, and viewers won't forget you when they need your product or services.

In each of the cases below, the re-vamp began with our usual complimentary meeting with the website owner or store manager to discuss the project and how we could meet their goals and objectives.
